Alexa Kravitz, Favorite Audio Piece

I really love this piece because cupcakes are a favorite of mine, yet I am fascinated by the widespread success a trendy dessert has had in spanning the country. This piece discusses the opening of the "cupcake boutique" Sprinkles in Los Angeles as a competitor to New York's famous Magnolia Bakery. The Brian Unger Report covers this trend in a humorous but true way. He compares the Los Angeles New York cupcake rivalry to the East Coast West Coast rap battles of the 90s. What makes this piece so interesting is his intermittent script with wonderful ambient sound like the customer checking out a cupcake. Although I find it difficult to listen to audio, he paints a picture of what it looks like inside the store through his questioning of the store owner. I thought this piece was a wonderfully done report of a topic that I am interested in.
